Wedding Barber in Bothell

Bothell has two real wedding venues. McMenamins Anderson School, a 1930s schoolhouse on Bothell Way turned into a hotel with a theatre, a pool and several bars, and The Loft at Russell’s on Monte Villa Parkway, a 1927 barn rebuilt as an event room. Country Village, which people still ask about, closed for good — the property was sold and redeveloped.

Bothell Way is a state route under construction. Check the bulletin on Thursday, not on Saturday.

What Bothell does have in quantity is rooms. Four or five hotels along the Canyon Park and North Creek corridor, several of them all-suite, which is why a good number of weddings that happen elsewhere have their wedding party staying here. For the men’s morning that is usually the whole story: the party is in a suite off Monte Villa Parkway and the ceremony is forty minutes away.

This page is what we know about how a Bothell wedding morning actually runs and what is worth settling before the day. Stache handles the finish for the groom and his party wherever they are getting ready — necklines and edges, beard lines, a hot towel — so everyone is camera ready before the cars leave.

Anderson School, and the room the party books

Anderson School is a genuinely good building for a wedding. Haynes’ Hall runs four thousand three hundred square feet and holds anywhere from two hundred and fifty to six hundred; Andy’s Room and the Patty Murray Room are smaller, at four hundred and sixty and six hundred square feet; Haynes’ Square is the outdoor option from June through October. Catering is in-house and meeting the food and beverage minimum waives the room rental, which includes tables, linens, china, chairs, staff, dance floor, lighting and sound.

The hotel has seventy-two guest rooms, all with private baths. What McMenamins does not publish is a dedicated getting-ready suite, and in practice the party uses one of those guest rooms — a king-plus room is the usual choice, and it is large enough for a station and several people without anyone backing into a lamp.

Check-in here is three in the afternoon rather than four, which is marginally more forgiving than most. It is still an afternoon time, so a party getting ready in the morning is in a room held from the night before. Given there are seven bars and a pool on site, holding the night before is rarely a hard sell.

The Loft at Russell’s, and the hours you contract

The Loft is four thousand square feet of converted 1927 barn — cathedral ceilings, clear-grain cedar walls, refinished original fir floors — holding around a hundred and eighty for cocktails, a hundred and fifty for a buffet dinner and a hundred plated. Catering is exclusively Russell Lowell’s, and outside vendors are permitted with approval.

Its best feature for a wedding morning is the rental structure. The venue states plainly that events are not set to a specific time but consist of the hours you contract, arranged with the event manager. That is unusually flexible for this region, where most venues sell a fixed block, and it means a morning is a question of asking rather than a question of whether the building is open.

The published getting-ready provision is a balcony area that may be used as a bridal suite. There is no second space, so if the men are getting ready on site it is worth agreeing where before the day rather than finding a corner on the morning. Parking is free and plentiful, which after downtown Seattle is a pleasure.

Where the party actually stays

The Bothell hotels are the quiet strength of the area for a wedding. Holiday Inn and Suites on Monte Villa Parkway carries twenty-four suites against eighty-four rooms, with essentially no event space — it is a place to sleep and get ready, and good at it. The Residence Inn on NE 195th is all-suite, extended-stay, with one and two-bedroom layouts and kitchens, which is the most comfortable setup for a party of men who want somewhere to put breakfast. The Hilton Garden Inn on Bothell Everett Highway has nineteen suites and real meeting space if a room needs booking alongside.

None of these hotels publishes a policy about a wedding party getting ready in a guest room, and none of them needs to. A suite with a separate living area is a good room to work in, the photographer gets usable light, and nothing has to be cleared with anybody.

Just outside Bothell there are two more worth knowing. The Lodge at St. Edward is about ten minutes away in Kenmore, inside a state park, with eighty-four rooms and suites — bear in mind that self-parking is unavailable to overnight guests there and everything gets carried in from valet or a park lot. Starlight Meadows in Mill Creek has four guest rooms on site, which makes it one of very few places nearby where the party sleeps and marries in the same place.

Bothell Way is a construction zone, and that is the real risk

Of everything on this page, this is the fact worth acting on. Bothell Way NE is State Route 522, and the interchange where it meets I-405 is being rebuilt as part of a project running to 2028. Anderson School is on that road.

The state’s method for this work is full weekend closures. The 2026 closures ran from Friday night straight through to four on Monday morning, in both directions, taking out the connecting ramps between SR 522 and I-405, and in some weekends the NE 195th Street ramps as well — which is the exit for the North Creek hotels. The state’s own notice says the signed detours cannot carry normal freeway volumes, and local reporting described delays of up to an hour in both directions.

There is no published schedule for every future weekend, and the programme runs for years. The practical answer is simple: check the state’s weekend construction bulletin on the Thursday before the wedding, and if the interchange is closed, move the grooming call earlier rather than hoping. It is two minutes of reading against an hour of sitting still in a suit.

What the morning looks like

Wedding work is the finish rather than a full cut — necklines and edges, around the ears, beard lines and shape, a hot towel, styling. At a place like Anderson School the party moves between warm interior rooms all day and the group is photographed together constantly. Consistency across the whole party is what reads, more than any one man’s cut.

Setup is handled. Everything arrives with the barber and leaves with him, so a suite on Monte Villa Parkway or a guest room at Anderson School needs nothing arranged in advance and nothing put back afterwards.

Wedding bookings are $200 per hour, with travel confirmed at inquiry. The hours depend on the party and on how much margin the drive out needs on the day.

Questions grooms ask

Which venues in Bothell actually host weddings?

Two: McMenamins Anderson School on Bothell Way and The Loft at Russell’s on Monte Villa Parkway. Country Village, which still comes up, closed permanently after the property was sold and redeveloped. Beyond those, Bothell is hotel inventory, and the nearest other venues are in Mill Creek and Kenmore.

Where do the men get ready at Anderson School?

In a guest room. The hotel publishes no dedicated getting-ready suite, and in practice parties book a larger king room and use it as the men’s room. Check-in is three in the afternoon, so a room used in the morning is one held from the night before.

Can you come to a hotel suite rather than a venue?

Yes, and in Bothell that is usually the simplest version of the day. Several of the hotels here are all-suite with separate living areas, which is a good room to work in and good light for the photographer. Nothing has to be cleared with a venue.

How early can you be there?

At a hotel or a house, as early as you want us. At a venue, as early as the contract opens the doors — The Loft at Russell’s is unusual in setting the hours by agreement rather than selling a fixed block, so a morning there is a question of asking. Send us the access time and the ceremony time and we will work backwards from the photographs.

Is this a haircut on the wedding day?

No. The haircut should already have happened — three to five days before for the cut, about a week for the beard. What we do on the day is the finish: necklines, edges, beard lines, a hot towel, styling, and making the whole group consistent.

What does a Bothell wedding booking cost?

$200 per hour, with travel confirmed at inquiry. The hours depend on the party and on how much margin the drive out needs.
